Hungary transposed NIS2 via Act LXIX of 2024 on Cybersecurity, adopted by the Hungarian Parliament on 20 December 2024 and in force from 1 January 2025. The Act consolidates cybersecurity governance into a single legislative instrument, replacing the earlier 2023 cybersecurity certification act. A January 2026 amendment further revised the scope of regulated critical-sector entities. The supervisory authority is SZTFH — Szabályozott Tevékenységek Felügyeleti Hatósága. The first mandatory cybersecurity audit deadline is 30 June 2026.
